Liverpool to appeal Mane's three-match ban for red card against Man City

Liverpool are set to appeal the length of Sadio Mane's three-match ban for his dismissal in the 5-0 defeat by Manchester City on Saturday.

Mane was sent off by referee Jon Moss for raising his foot and clashing with City goalkeeper Ederson, leaving the Brazilian requiring eight minutes of treatment before he was taken from the field on a stretcher and wearing an oxygen mask.

Liverpool have the option to appeal citing an excessive punishment and hope to see his suspension downgraded to either one or two matches.
