Former Chelsea and Barcelona star Eidur Gudjohnsen decides to retire

Former Chelsea and Barcelona star Eidur Gudjohnsen has decided to retire from professional football, according to his native media Visir.
The 38-year-old Icelandic forward hasn't played for any club since leaving Molde in 2016. He was once linked to India side Pune City, but the move was prevented by his injury.
Beridablik sent him an offer in the second half of the season, but the former Iceland international reject it.
In a recent interview with Visir, Gudjohnsen made his decision to retire from professional football: "I think I will never stop playing football. I will train and play until I cannot walk.
"But for professional football, I think I'm miles away from it. It has been a year since I last played and my body is stiff when I wake up in the morning."
Throughout his professional career, Eidur Gudjohnsen has scored over 150 goals in all competitions with his clubs and the national team. He won Premier League twice when playing for Chelsea, and won La Liga, Copa del Rey as well as UEFA Champions League with Barcelona.
